  • Filings submitted by US Mail will be processed and returned to you by mail in one to two weeks. Please include a self-addressed envelope with enough postage to return the filed/endorsed documents to you.
  • Drop box available for filing documents Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., except court holidays. For tips on using the Drop box, download our printable Drop Box Instructions.
  • Documents submitted by attorneys without a stamped, self-addressed envelope will be placed in the attorney cabinet for pickup.
  • To file in-person, you must either make an appointment online or request a service ticket from Reception. In person filing is available Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm., except court holidays.

Probate Hearings and Trials

Self-Help Center

  • Remote assistance is avaiable via e-Correspondence.
  • In-person assistance is available on a walk-in basis Monday through Thursday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, except court holidays. Start at Reception.
  • Workshops are offered on a variety of topics and may require an appointment.
  • Assistance is only available to self-represented litigants

Probate Court Records

  • May view some documents online by using the Public Case Access System except for guardianship and conservatorship.
  • Submit a request for documents by US Mail or drop box addressed to the Probate Division, including accompanying fees. Requests will be processed in approximately two weeks.
  • Payment by check, money order (made out to Sacramento Superior Court) or credit card authorization form.

Probate Notes

  • The Probate Attorneys review all petitions and orders for content and legal requirements before they are acted upon by the court.
  • The Probate Attorneys publish probate calendar notes itemizing any legal deficiencies on each case.
  • You may view Calendar Notes approximately 10 days prior to the hearing at Calendar Notes.
  • Deficiencies must be responded to and cleared by filing a pleading that conforms to Local Rule 4.01.

Probate Court Investigations

  • Guardianship and Conservatorship investigations are conducted in person.
