  • Filings should be submitted by US Mail
  • Include a self-addressed envelope and enough postage to return the filed/endorsed documents to you
  • Drop-Box also available for filing documents Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., except court holidays

Probate Hearings and Trials

  • Until further notice, hearings, settlement conferences and trials will be conducted via Zoom telepresence
  • Zoom Hearing and Etiquette Instructions
  • No public physical access to courtrooms
  • Must have compatible technology or attend telephonically
  • Prior to your hearing check Probate Webpage for any new information

Self Help Center

  • No in-person assistance
  • Assistance via e-Correspondence for Guardianship and Limited Conservatorship
  • Workshops by Zoom telepresence for:
    • Guardianship of Person Only
    • Termination of Guardianship

Probate Court Records

  • May view online by creating an account on the Public Case Access System
  • Alternatively, submit a request for documents by US Mail or drop-box addressed to the Probate Division, including accompanying fees. Requests processed as soon as administratively possible.
  • Payment by check, money order (made out to Sacramento Superior Court) or credit card authorization form

Probate Notes

  • The Probate Attorneys review all petitions and orders for content and legal requirements before they are acted upon by the court
  • The Probate Attorneys publish probate calendar notes itemizing any legal deficiencies on each case
  • You may view Calendar Notes approximately 10 days prior to the hearing at Calendar Notes
  • Deficiencies must be responded to and cleared by filing a pleading that conforms to Local Rule 4.01

Probate Court Investigations

  • Guardianship and Conservatorship investigations will be conducted via telephone interview

Requesting an Interpreter

  • Interpreters for ex parte requests email to Probate ex partes
  • For all other probate proceedings either submit via US MAIL or submit request via drop-box

Ex Parte Requests

  • After proper notice may be submitted via drop-box or email to Probate ex partes at least 24 hours prior to desired ex parte hearing
  • Be sure to review most current procedure for Probate ex partes on the Court's website before proceeding Probate Mitigation Plan
  • Please complete and attach this form to your request for an ex parte
