- Crime Victims Legal Clinic - Our purpose is to protect and further the rights of crime victims in California criminal proceedings. Certified law students work directly with crime victims in exercising their rights at every stage of the criminal proceeding, including but not limited to, bail hearings, release proceedings, pre-trial motion practice (i.e., motions to quash subpoenas, rape shield, closing the courtroom, protective orders), trial, and post-trial, such as drafting victims statements for sentencing, or arguing for victim restitution.
