Mandated Court Closures

The Sacramento Superior Court will be closed to the public on the third Wednesday of each month due to a mandatory statewide closure. These closure days will be treated as holidays for the purposes of scheduling hearings and calculating filing deadlines.

For Civil Tentative Rulings: If your hearing is scheduled for the Thursday after a closure, your Tentative Ruling will be posted on the Tuesday prior to the closure date and you will need to call between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday to request oral argument.

New Process for Family Law Customers at the William R. Ridgeway Family Relations Courthouse

On September 17, 2009 the Family Law Division implemented a new Digital Triage system so our customers will no longer have to stand in long lines while waiting for services.

Customers now obtain a "service number" inside the building's entrance at the information booth and are directed to a seating area.

Family Law Services that require a "service number" include:

• Obtaining assistance from the Self-Help Center
• Cashier/Forms
• Filing Documents
• Reviewing or copying Court Records
• Ex Parte Hearings
• Restraining Orders
