The public comment period is now open for proposed amendments to Sacramento Superior Court's Local Rule 2.26 (B). The comment period for Sacramento Superior Court's Local Rule 2.26 (B) closes on Monday, October 5, 2026. Please send any comments to LocalRules@saccourt.ca.gov. The amendments, as adopted by the court, will go into effect on January 1, 2027.

2.26 Writs of Mandate.

(B) Unless otherwise ordered by the court, points and authorities prepared for a hearing on the merits of a writ petition shall be filed in accordance with the following schedule and page limits: The opening memorandum of points and authorities brief shall be filed at least 45 calendar days before prior to the hearing date; t. The opposition brief shall be filed at least 15 25 calendar days before prior to the hearing date; and the reply shall be filed at least 15 calendar days prior to the hearing. The opening and opposition briefs shall not exceed 30 pages, and the reply shall not exceed 20 pages. The court prefers that all memoranda use double-spaced lines. Points and authorities prepared for a motion prior to the merits of the petition shall comply with the filing schedule and page limits specified in the California Rules of Court, rule 3.1113 and rule 3.1300. All notices of motions or hearings must contain the tentative ruling language in Local Rule 1.06.
