The current criminal case management system will be disabled at 12 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026, and will remain unavailable until the new portal launches.

Standby Service
All prospective jurors begin their service on a standby status. You may begin checking your group reporting instructions anytime after 5 p.m., on the Friday before your standby service date. During your standby week, you must check the group reporting instructions for a maximum of 5 days, or until you are instructed to report to the courthouse or that your service is complete without having to report.
You are required to report to work until your group is called in.
Length of Service
The Sacramento Superior Court operates on a one-day/one-trial system.
The Jury Commissioner is required to have a sufficient number of jurors available for all anticipated trials. The jury staff carefully estimates the number of jurors needed daily, but many variables are beyond their control. If you are instructed to report to the courthouse, you may or may not serve as a juror in a trial court.
If you are required to report, the court asks that you be available to serve for at least 10 days following your summons standby date. Trials vary in length but generally last one to two weeks.
If you cannot be available for this timeframe, you must submit a request to be postponed or excused.
Summons Notifications
Jury Service now offers now offers email notifications for updates on your jury summons status. These notifications are only available to jurors currently summoned for jury duty. To sign up for the electronic notifications, you may do so on the jury portal.
