To recognize Veterans Day 2025, Sacramento Superior Court Judge James P. Arguelles shared the following statement:

As members of the judiciary and the court system, we share a solemn duty to uphold justice and serve the public, a mission that resonates deeply with the spirit of military service. This is a particularly meaningful day for our profession, as many in our legal community—from judges and attorneys to courthouse staff—have dedicated their service to our country. Sacramento Superior Court recognizes the unique perspective and dedication our veterans bring to their work every day, and extends its heartfelt thanks to all who have served our country. The commitment and sacrifice of our veterans are the very foundation of the freedoms and rule of law that we are dedicated to preserving.

I am especially proud to work alongside colleagues who have answered the call of duty, and I am equally grateful for the opportunity to have served in the military for over 33 years.

Judge James P. Arguelles has served in the U.S. Navy, U.S. Navy Reserve, and is currently serving in the U.S. Army Reserve as an Associate Judge on the Army Court of Criminal Appeals.
