Building Information

The Tani G. Cantil-Sakauye Sacramento County Courthouse houses the main administrative offices of the court, as well as containing trial courtrooms, the department of the Presiding Judge, general civil settlement conference rooms, and the general civil and criminal case processing support units.

  • General civil support service, felony, and misdemeanor support services (filing of documents, payment of fees, review of files, and case processing)
  • Accounting-related functions (returned checks, refunds, accounts payable for fines, fees, sanctions, services)

The court's Executive and Human Resources Offices are located on the 17th Floor within the Tani G. Cantil-Sakauye Sacramento County Courthouse.

Court Departments

The Tani G. Cantil-Sakauye Sacramento County Courthouse houses 53 courtrooms between the 3rd and 17th floors. The courtrooms are named in a manner to assist in determining their location. The numeric portion indicates the floor, and the letter indicates the location from West (A) to East (D) on the floor. Example: 3A is located on the West side of the third floor.

Amenities

  • Cafeteria/Vending Machines — There is a Marketplace on the first floor, and vending machines are located in the Jury Assembly Room, on the same floor.
  • Children's Waiting Room — A Children's Waiting Room is available in Room 115 on the 1st floor from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon and from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Children’s Waiting Room is available for children 1 to 12 years of age. Children 3 years or older must be potty trained. They can be reached at 916-874-6019.
  • Copy Machines — Available in the Civil and Criminal Records Viewing Rooms, Rooms 210 and 240; $.50 per page. Copy cards cost $1 and can be purchased at the dispensers located in Room 101. The dispensers accept only $1 bills. The cards come pre-loaded with $0.50, but customers can reload them for $0.50 per copy at the copiers (not the dispensers), up to a limit of $25. The money box at the copier accepts nickels, dimes, quarters, $1, and $5 bills.

  • Banking Services—An ATM is located on the first floor; nearby banks include Wells Fargo at 400 Capitol Mall and Sacramento Credit Union at 800 H Street.
  • Nearby Restaurants—The K Street Mall, located three blocks south of the Tani G. Cantil-Sakauye Sacramento County Courthouse, has many restaurants in all price ranges.
